CHOOSING A HIGH SCHOOL FOR YOUR SON CAN BE VERY DIFFICULT…
Why would you send your son to Mesivta Yam HaTorah? Because we have created an excellent well-rounded program with one focus – your son.

Please read through this brochure to find out what our Mesivta has to offer, but to truly appreciate what makes our program unique, it must be experienced first-hand.

Take the time to contact us and arrange an appointment to meet with our Menahel. You will see that our Mesivta may be the best choice for your son

.LEARNING TO UNDERSTAND
Our Hashkafah at Mesivta Yam HaTorah is simple: no matter what material is being studied it is learned for the sake of understanding. We take pride in strong understanding and comprehension.

Our talmidim are part of an exciting process – the Kasha and Teretz, the Hava Amina and Maskanah. They are involved at every step of the way, because Shiurim are presented as lively group discussions rather than lectures. Questions and debates aren’t just encouraged; they are the very essence of the shiur.

Through this highly interactive process, they can’t help but understand, enjoy and excel!

MIDDOS AND MUSSAR
Limud HaMussar is an integral part of our program. Developing good Middos is essential during the teenageyears when young men develop the ideals and character that will define them for the rest of their lives.

Our Mussar study is far from just academic. It addresses real life issues and teaches achievable goals to improve Middos. Of course, true Limud HaMussar is not just accomplished by learning Messilas Yesharim; the entire atmosphere of a yeshiva must cultivate personal growth. At Yam HaTorah, we motivate talmidim to strive to improve their Middos internally, not just on the outside, and to develop their Avodas Hashem in a sincere and balanced way.

We take Middos very seriously and enable every boy to become a well-rounded Ben Torah and an exemplary Mentch.

BEYOND HASHKAFAH
It is crucial for Talmidim to build a solid foundation in Hashkafah to prepare them for life after high school.

Yam HaTorah has integrated a vast Hashkafah curriculum into the daily schedule.
  • Interactive classes are scheduled throughout the year to broaden each talmid’s knowledge of Hashkafah and strengthen his Emunah.
  • Rebbeim are available any time to discuss Hashkafah issues with talmidim. Questions are encouraged – even sensitive ones – and are answered patiently and non-judgmentally.

A RELATIONSHIP WITH HASHEM
A successful yeshiva student is one who combines serious learning, good Middos and connection to Hashem. This combination brings purpose and genuine Simcha to a person’s life.

We help forge this connection to Hashem by reinforcing Tefillah skills. We teach boys to appreciate Tefillah; not just the meaning of the words, but understanding its purpose. We show them how to recognize Hashem’s involvement in our lives and in the world around us.

We also teach talmidim how to live with a sense of Bitachon, the cornerstone of success in life and in Avodas Hashem.

The goal is to instill a strong lifelong relationship with Hashem that will bring happiness, confidence and satisfaction.

BEST OF BOTH WORLDS
Yam HaTorah’s state-accredited General Studies program is designed to prepare our high school graduates for the rapidly advancing world with a firm and resilient Torah perspective.

Whether a graduate chooses to continue his learning in a Yeshiva Gedolah or to pursue a career, he will be prepared to excel in any setting.

  • All General Studies classes and teachers reflect the high standard of Hashkafah and Middos that Yam HaTorah stands for.
  • Students are trained in cutting-edge computers and technologies, all in a safe, Torah-true environment.
  • Teachers are trained to utilize Yam HaTorah’s hallmark method of interactive instruction in all classes to make material fresh and exciting.
  • Creative Writing and Public Speaking skills are emphasized in order to develop Bnei Torah that will be respected ambassadors of Yiddishkeit to the rest of the world.

“My son is thrilled! He is intellectually challenged, emotionally inspired and he feels an atmosphere of warmth and caring. Thank you Yam HaTorah!”
-A Satisfied Parent

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Individualized Classes: We believe in the uniqueness of each student and therefore, will not place more than 12 students in any class. This allows Rebbeim to give sufficient attention to every student and gives each boy the opportunity to find a comfortable place within his peer group without getting lost.
  • Involved Parents: Since parents play an essential role in a child’s development, Yam HaTorah promotes their active involvement throughout the year. Special workshops for parents are presented periodically for parents and Rebbeim and teachers are always available to discuss a student’s progress and are receptive to comments and suggestions.
  • Mentors and Role-Models: An integral part of our daily schedule is the Chavrusah time with students from Yeshiva Zichron Aryeh and Kollel Ner Yehoshua. These Chavrusahs have been trained to be effective mentors and are dedicated to helping every student grow.
  • Out of Town - In Town: Located in the quiet neighborhood of Bayswater, the Mesivta is an in-town Yeshiva with an out-of-town feel - far enough from the distractions of the city but close enough to home. This relaxed setting is perfect for natural and unpressured development in a caring environment.
